Beijing Jingdu Children's Hospital held the Fourth Ethics Committee Review on December 23, 2020. Seventeen members of the Ethics Committee joined the meeting, including clinical experts, lawyers and representatives from the public.
The committee reviewed five research programs proposed by the hematology department of the hospital, including four proprietary hospital projects and one joint project with other institutions. All the programs are focused on clinical issues in the area of cell and immunity research.
Reporters of the projects made detailed introduction to their projects in terms of research background, implementation, safety and risk prevention. Reviewers conducted earnest discussion and evaluation on the project design, the recruitment, medical protection and privacy protection of subjects, informed consent and other patient right protection issues.
Leaders of each program presented on the research background, execution plan, safety of the researches and risks. The panelists posed questions and the Committee discussed the test plan, recruitment of volunteers, privacy and medical protection.
Jingdu attaches great importance to the adherence of ethical standards in its research efforts and clinical activities. The hospital is committee to continuously promote the ethical practices for the wellbeing of all patients as well as medical professionals.
